Chain of office

This morning I represented our (Church of Scotland) congregation at the Edinburgh Hebrew Congregation annual civic service. Among the guests were the consuls from India, Austria, New Zealand and Poland. Alex Cole-Hamilton MSP was there: I knew him before his political career took off and it was good to speak again.

Also various religious and civic leaders and police representatives were present. Among them was a school friend - Edinburgh’s Lord Provost - and we managed a brief catch up. I took the opportunity to take a close up of his chain of office with the city’s motto.
