Up
Out to the Modern Art galleries this morning to see what exhibitions they had on (mixed in my humble view), a wander to St Mary’s to check out the day’s recital (horn and piano, we didn’t stay long), then into the west end to check out the craft fair (nothing jumped out crying ‘Buy me!’). Otto and Andrea headed onward to the Portrait Gallery but we took the opt out option and went home and after all, I had to buy something for dinner!
Then the big Festival event - Simon Rattle conducting the LSO at the Usher Hall in Messiaen’s Tarangalila Symphony. Not at all what I was expecting but definitely had the Wow! factor. Ninety odd musicians on stage, all at the top of their game (extra). A pity about the seats though, my bum is still complaining.
Rounded the day off by wandering down to The Tiq to meet George and JacktheLad, O&A renewing old friendships.
