Grasmere

This is straight out of the camera - no mucking about with saturation or contrast, this is really how blue that field of blubells is.

It stopped us, and everyone else, in our tracks as we took the circular 6 miles around Grasmere and Rydal water today. The sun finally came out about half an hour after this picture so we are finally getting to see this beautiful part of our Country at it's Spring best.

This area was home to Wordsworth for about ten years until his family outgrew Dove Cottage; it's easy to see what drew them here. The cottage is open to the public, and B was keen to have a gander, but it was all booked up for the rest of the day so we reluctantly repaired to an excellent Grasmere hostelry for refreshment.

Back to Kirkby L for tea in the sun and early night (the walking and fresh air is clearly taking it out of us (adopted) southern softies).
