Fire dragon ..on the move...not over yet...days...

There was a small fire on the westside that grew very fast with the system change and high winds. The pictures are in sequence as nightfall was on its way.

These are a few of our pictures from last night as our son and his family plus an elderly neighbour came over to our place as they were evacuated.

At 9.00pm, high embers from the very hot fire came over the lake and started spot fires on the Kelowna side about 2 kilometres from our place..

All 10 of us packed up and moved from our place to two other family homes in Kelowna.

This morning, I came back home ate 6.00am and told the group that they could come back to our place...as it was still standing and safe..just smoky.

Last Extra:  looking across the lake..it looks like our son's house (red roof log home...and the neighbours house are still standing...about 10 homes in his neighbourhood have been incinerated...the total number of homes lost will be in the 100's before this thing is over..

There are now multiple fires all around the Kelowna area..on both sides of the lake...and we will have to wait and see if we have to move again..
Everyone is safe so far...no casualties as yet. Everyone is evacuating when told.
Some people didn't get out in time across the lake and had to be picked up by boat...scary...sound like Lahaina???
