Where is the sea?

I bought a photographic magazine today and was reading about how to take seascapes with a long exopsure for the smooth water effect. As we live near the sea, I drove down and the sea was so far out I couldn't see it! So I took a photo of the little pools of water instead. It was very hazy so North Wales is only just visible across what should be the river Dee.
