Walked over to the book festival to meet up with LM and see Raynor Winn. She was very engaging snd had some interesting things to say, though somr of their decisions did seem a little odd. Had a nice chat with L overcoffee but then had to dash to the next event/ two crime writers based in Edinburgh supposed to be talking about using the city to set their writing in. There was very little of that though and I felt that the questions and answers were a little pedestrian.
Had some lunch at home and then went to see Concerned Others at Summerhall. Important subject - drug and alcohol abuse - and some interesting use of multi media done by a very sincere young man but felt it needed more work to really come together as a show. Home to mert up with DF and then down to Rollo for dinner - delicious - and then the playhouse for a double dance bill. First part was incomprehensible and not interesting to watch! It was followed by a long interval when the stage hands covered the stage with soil and then Rites of Spring done by brilliant African dancers. Absolutely fantastic !
