Morning explorations
The weather this morning was perfect, so off I went to explore. Today's blip shows the recently renovated square in the village of Queyrac. The last time I visited, there were mounds of earth and bulldozers at work.
Below this is the Phare (lighthouse) de Richard which overlooks the Gironde estuary. Built in 1843, it was never actually high enough at just 18 metres. In 1870 another metal lighthouse 30 meters high, whose light was more visible, was built close by This lighthouse was in service until 1953 and then demolished.
A fabulous morning's ride.
