Surfing at the Gold Coast

We set off from O’Reilly’s late morning as the mist was lifting and the mountains were almost visible.

The journey down the mountain road was slow but we were in no rush as we had all day to get to the Brisbane airport hotel for the first of the flights tomorrow morning.

On the way we took a detour by the Gold Coast as we needed to see the family where we collected Amy for the wedding. They weren’t in at first so we drove down to Palm Beach and watched the kite surfer setting off and skimming over the waves. We had a coffee stop, popped back to see the friends and then drove to the hotel as light was fading.

Tomorrow will be a long day with 4 consecutive flights !
