Dear Green Place 6 - Alexandra Park
A journey eastwards today for a change. I went to Dennistoun with the intention of blipping the Saracen Fountain (made by the same foundry that produced the iron work for Kibble Palace -- they were also one of five foundries that made the iconic K6 red telephone boxes) but I liked this photo better. When I was growing up and we drove to Glasgow along the M8, these gasworks were my landmark, signalling that we were almost there!
Alexandra Park opened in 1870.
