Cutting the meadow
We left part of our lawn to grow wild this summer, hopefully benefitting pollinators and other wildlife. Birds certainly took more interest in it than usual. The advice we have read is that it should be mown once a year and the grass removed, so I got down on my hands and knees and used shears to cut it this morning, then mowed it. It looks a bit bare now, but more conventional.
