Brimstone butterfly

We had such a lovely sunny morning that a walk at Howe Ridding seemed a good idea. Bad timing! Not a peep of sunshine the whole way. The few butterflies to be found were hanging stationary from leaves, so I managed to get close to this female brimstone.
I had a nice game of ‘Curators’ with Katie and and Andrew, quite complicated but fun!
Rob went to put his moth lights out and came back all covered in mosquito bites!
