A Bit Of Art

I completely forgot that the Monsters were back at school and got a bit of a surprise when she appeared while I was in the garage this morning.

SWMBO got a phone call from the dentist - they had a cancelation ... did she want it?
Too right.
So she was up at the dentist at the back of 10 and was given a temporary filling.

I took two bits of scrap and made a box (in the extras). I was surprised it actually turned out okay considering the voids/splits in the 'body' and the twig cutting through the top.
The base is Elm I cut many years ago and the top is Lilac from the garden.

I took possession of a battery powered drill today...cheap, loads of speed and torque settings, 2 batteries (pre charged), charger, a load of accessories - and a pair of work gloves! Rather pleased.

The Blip is a rock I have had for a number of years. It was part of a huge circle of 'painted' rocks which were collected, painted and numbered and laid out in Pittenweem as part of their Arts Festival. The circle took in part of the harbour wall, the slipway and the harbour itself.
The artist was a Japanese gentleman who was invited to take part in the festival. He selected the rocks from various beaches around the north of Scotland and the idea/belief is that at some time in the future they would all come back together again .... despite the fact that people were invited to remove them (1 each).
