Between breakfast in Christ Church, and a formal dinner at Balliol (see extras) I had a good day at the conference, starting to spend more time talking and thinking than attending presentations. As well as talking to old friends, I cemented a new acquaintance and met up with someone valuable whom I'd only met virtually before. 

Another evening of beautiful light on the golden orange stone of Oxford: this fountain is "Mercury" in the centre of Christ Church's Tom Quad.
