Home grown

I take no credit for these beautifully tasting tomatoes, which Bob has grown in the greenhouse.  We had the first picking a day ago and today he picked these.  We had a tomato, basil and spring onion salad with our roasted salmon for dinner, with potato salad made from the remainder of the potatoes we got at the Allotment Day...... wish I had more, but Bob's own potatoes are ready for cropping, so he tells me.

Bob had an optician's appointment this morning, and I had banking to do so we were down in the town centre.

It is a sad place nowadays as so many shops have closed, and there is a great big empty space at the Debenham's end.....M&S is gone too....I remember when we came to EK 50 years ago they were building the Plaza and every shop was taken, there was a real buzz about the place.  East Kilbride was a very 'young' town in these days and a great place to bring up our children, but it is now an 'old' town and not nearly so vibrant.  Rant over......

In the afternoon we were walking down at Rouken Glen and we were checking the address of a care home as a friend has just moved in and we will be visiting as soon as she is settled.

Growing old is not for wimps......I am not going to get old.......
