Mini adventure

Home today, but time for another adventure on the way.
We were away from our B&B by 9am and stopped a dozen miles or so down the road for a walk.
There was a path marked on the map and a map showing waymarked walks, one of which corresponded to the one on our map, at the start. The route is in an area where the natural forest is being regenerated and there is good progress from out last walk in the area a number of years ago. Initially there was a good track (gradually being allowed to narrow) with views through the new woods across to Slioch and Ben Lair. There were also lots of Scotch Argus butterflies.
After a couple of miles we turned off and it soon became quite wet underfoot, but not deep wet, and at one point the way marks went 2 different ways. We followed one to the right which proved to be the wrong one, it ended at a broken bridge just above some waterfalls (extra), so we went back upstream a bit and forded the river, wishing we'd taken out walking poles. We were fine, but wet feet - but the rest of us was wet, too, as there was a shower at the this point!
There had been a notice saying a bridge was down and to cross 1km upstream but it wasn't clear where the bridge in question was. On looking at the GPS trace later it was clear we would have found the upstream one if we'd turned left at the junction - but then we'd have missed a bit of adventure.
We were rather damp when back at the car but a short drive to KInlochewe for lunch in a breezy spot soon dried us out (we had dry foorwear to change into). Then an uneventful drive home, wash the mud of the boots, eat and unpack.
An excellent weekend.
