New Forest Ponies
We returned to Wilverley Plain for more Aerobee. I was put to shame by the boys with their extraordinary throwing and catching skills. Kindreth walked off into the distance to commune with the ponies one last time.
Because they were part of my childhood I've always taken them for granted but it really is an extraordinary thing that these gentle animals freely roam the forest and the grazing lands, not to mention the villages. They seem to be oblivious to the human world. They wander on to the roads and take their time, in no rush to get out of the way of the cars. It's almost as if they want to impose their own pace of life on ours and teach us a lesson.
In the afternoon, I said my goodbyes to Darren and family, who headed off to be near Heathrow for a very early morning flight. Then I took to the train, having to deal with more cancellations. It was close to an eight hour journey from door to door.
