Double The Pleasure

I was hanging around the goldenrod when I noticed this white-faced meadowhawk nearby (because legs are black, the autumn one has orange legs - thanks Kimb), but was thrilled to find a twenty-spotted lady beetle sharing the same leaf! A first for me! They eat mildew from leafy plants and with the rain we’ve had this summer it makes sense they’ve found a home with us • It’s been uncomfortably muggy today with on and off sunshine. A passing cold front is kicking off thunderstorms this afternoon; we’re currently under a severe storm warning for the next thirty minutes. More rain for us!! • Hope you’re enjoying your Sunday!
