Some Light Surgery

The weather not being that great today, I opted for a trip to the woodlands on the Mendips for another go at woodland photography.  I've  said before, I find it an incredibly difficult discipline.  I'm trying to create a more painterly feel with these shots, but I'm not quite where I want to be with it yet.

This is the same group of trees that featured in my "Woodland Break" shot (https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/3130235358596304480) a few weeks ago. As you can see the broken branch has now been removed - although to call it a branch seems to under represent it, as it was a substantial piece of timber.
