Vergeside Harebells

After seeing the end-of-summer desiccation of Bodnant’s wildflower meadows, these roadside verges come as the most delightful surprise.

My wildflower knowledge remains at basic level, but I think this natural border includes clover, common birds-foot trefoil, knapweed and beautiful blue harebells. It’s the latter that first catch my eye, a sea of blue waving in the keen breeze - beautiful, but challenging to photograph.

I don’t feel any single shot captures the scene, so I’ve resorted to a collage. Thanks to Miranda for hosting Wildflower Week!
