We have a plan…
Hello Everyone,
Well, I have spent the last two days sitting at my computer trawling over data of the last five years results of the British and World Master Track Cycling Championships. I also created a spreadsheet to calculate the average revs per minute (RPM) for a given distance, time, and gear ratio with this I have mapped out what I would need to do to be competitive.
I am quite sure I can cope with the average RPM with some training as I have already pedaled that fast for 30 seconds, so the hip can do it. I just need to train to do it for 12 minutes. The issue or maybe questionable thing is can I raise the RPM to around 160 for bursts of 30 seconds 4 times in the 12 minutes.
I should be able to start training on the road and track In September and I feel within 3 months I should get some idea if the above is possible.
The Photo:
My old weight training shoes, which I never thought I would use again. However, I have agreed a plan to start weight training again on Sundays with my mates Brian and Dom at Brian’s home gym. I don’t think I will get back to THIS again and to be truthful I don’t think I need to. But having Brian and Dom there will get a great asset to make sure I give my new hip the care it needs.
Right back to the spreadsheets, more data to crunch.
Stay happy, strong, and healthy.
