Mum reading

Dog and i went to get papers but the footpath is blocked with pumpkin plants that it’s going to have to be the long way round for a while.  It’s traversable but not pleasant. Still it was lovely to be doing the walk on a sunny morning.  
Went over to Mum’s for a cup of coffee and picked some flowers for her from her garden. She has a busy social diary this weekend I was pleased to see. 

Food shop in Petersfield and then at home made a cake for tomorrow and prepped for dinner tonight. 
We had two couples for dinner, Tim and Anne and Kati and Andrew.  Fun evening, Tim celebrating harvest being over and so feeling festive.  Anne brought a huge bunch of Crazy Legs dahlias for me.  

We fed them a mix of starters, a green been salad, good Cornish salami (really!) and burrata, V made a chicken and rice dish and I did pudding, bitter chocolate cake with warm cherries in grappa and icecream.  All very good!  Sorry to do a list of food like some society hostess but it’s useful looking back.
