The Wreck (not on the highway!!)
Frankfurt Day 4
Decided to hire a car and drive to BAd Homberg (BH) today. Unfortunately, Gillian's driving proved to be pretty dire and the poor classic car that we were told to handle with care, ended up like THIS! Haha:).
BH is one of the prettiest towns I have ever visited. It has the biggest park To wander through with the most immaculately kept grass, but there are little meadow bits with loads of wild flowers. Masses of really big and pretty statues and park art (like this car)... There is a Spa, golf course and a cemetery. Beautiful Japanese pagoda with water fountains and little benches to sit and enjoy the sunshine. I noticed though that dogs are not allowed off their leads. And there is not a drop of litter or dog poop anywhere! The houses here are ones you stand and gawp up at from the street and wonder what the inside is like and who lives in them. And how rich they must be to afford to live there.
We had a nice coffee in a picturesque street with a pretty poor apple strudel then back on the u-bahn to F.
Into town later and we found a whole street that was hosting an outdoor Food and Beer festival. Music (not German style thankfully) and loads of people sitting on benches eating and drinking and chatting. We picked a very good one to eat at and I tasted one of the best ever puddings (Austrian) - probably 2000 calories but who cares I'm on my hols. And found this amazing drink with pruscetto , flower syrup, peppermint leaves and ice. Felt pretty tipsy after a couple (I know, I'm a lightweight)!,
Some dancing in the flat afterwards as fritz attempted to teach us some dance moves. tried.... He seemed to find our dancing hilarious:). !!!
Ps the bag is not part of the display!
