Our buddleia has been in bloom for about two weeks now and apart from a visit from a humming-bird hawk moth and a brief visit from a cabbage white and a small tortoiseshell ( no photos) there have been no more butterflies that I have seen.
So, when I saw this red admiral landing, I rushed and got my camera and here he is.
After taking my wife to Mintlaw this morning to catch a bus for the first part of her journey to Edinburgh for a few days, it has been a “spuddling” sort of day.
It being the so called “Glorious Twelfth”, I have been thinking about all the poor grouse that have been killed or injured to satisfy the barbaric needs of the shooters.
I wonder if any of the royal family are out there on the heather moors. Some usually are!
I cannot respect anyone that shoots defenceless creatures for pleasure!!!
