The gas men cometh

I'd been woken around 3 am by the sound of drilling in the street - not immediately outside, but close. Seemed a bit of a strange time - but all was revealed when I went out on to Bernard St later and found the gas people digging extensive holes. Asked one of them what the drilling in the night was about, and he replied "Gas leak, innit?"
