Moon & stars

We went for a tour of Dalkeith Palace today. The Buccleuchs have stripped out most of the really lovely things for their other estates but it was still interesting. This drainpipe was tucked away around the side. The stars & moon motifs that are carved in the sandstone at the door can be seen replicated here, with the Duchess’s cypher. Around the front, the drainpipes have little crowns. I’d rather have the moon & stars…
