A rest day!

When Ann went for her 'personal trainer' session in the gym, on Monday, he told her that she had to have 'rest days'. He said that she should be aiming for 3-4 sessions of exercise a week, so if she was taking a fitness class 3-4 times a week, then she shouldn't also be going to the gym 3-4 times a week. He also said that walking me and swimming counted as exercise??!! Ann doesn't count walking me and swimming as exercise because she doesn't exert any energy doing those activities.


Anyway, yesterday she'd done a swim session, a gym session and an aqua fit class (as well as walking me) so today she said, 'Trixie, today I will have a 'rest day' and we will go off on a little adventure together.' The plan was to jump on the bus and go to Dunbar, but today has been hot and Ann didn't really fancy sitting on a bus for an hour, so she said we'd just go on a big long walk instead.

We ended up walking for almost 10 miles. We went to Duddingston Loch, Arthurs Seat and Holyrood Park. It was a very enjoyable walk. For some of it I had to stay on my lead but I got loads of off-lead time to run about. And although it was hot, there was a very pleasant breeze. We were walking solidly for about 3 and a half hours, so by the time we got home we were both pretty tired so had to have a little lie down. Lol!

In fact, I've had a lie down for the whole afternoon. Ann had to go to Tesco's, and when she came back, she woke me up and made me go out for a toileting walk around the block. I'm back in bed now?!!

As for Ann........................ well, she's had her 'rest day', so she's booked in for a body balance class, gym session and swim session tomorrow?! Got to make the most of it. ….........Her 'Edinburgh Leisure Centre Six Week Summer Fitness Plan' comes to an end in less than 3 weeks. …........And she hasn't achieved a 'beach babe bod' yet. Lol!!!!!
