Oddity
Point Roberts is a very small place.
How small…? Classic car enthusiasts were invited to bring their autos to an outdoor music festival in support of preservation of eagle habitat. Seven vehicles showed up. None were classic. One was a Geo Metro! Two were pickup trucks. This vehicle is the only standout and it is hardly classic.
It stands out because it is odd. It as a Citroen but it is assembled in England, from a kit. It has three wheels…that’s odd! Well, it has four, but one is a spare: that has never been used. Extra 1 is a rear view.
It has a classic, roadster style front. Very 1930’s! But the whole effect is ruined by the rusty gizmos protruding from the body. Very odd!
The owner’s sign says it is a car. That’s odd: the license plate on the rear is for a motorcycle. It is actually a motor tricycle. I guess they don’t have plates for those. From the front it looks like a car. From the rear it looks more like a motorcycle, and sidecar. Odd. It has a steering wheel. Car. But it has motorcycle style windshields, and no wipers. It doesn’t have a boot, but does have a motorcycle style luggage rack. I am very confused…which is not odd!
Extra 2. One of the not classics is this rather humble looking Alfa Romeo…sports car? It was sitting in the space it occupied at the ‘Car Show’. It had not moved in four days. One day a classic, the next an abandoned piece of junk. That’s odd!
