Under the bridge

Quite a bit of choice for blipping today, but this shot looking along under the road through the bridge supports was unusual enough to win the right to become todays blip. We were walking along a footpath/cycle track and passed under this roadbridge when I looked left and saw the support mechanism for the road above. I don't think I've ever seen something quite like it before!

Since the bridge is obviously ancient I guess I have to acknowledge that this form of support must work!

We all need a support structure around us, whether that be family, friends or faith. I reckon the best is to have all three!

It reminds me of the story Jesus told when he said ...
'Why do you call me, "Lord, Lord," and do not do what I say? As for everyone who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice, I will show you what they are like. They are like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When the flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built. But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete.'
