Heads
A very much not "one photo" day. The blip is a completely unfiltered and unedited go pro photo from my swim this evening. One of the extras has been straightened and edited a bit. The second extra was taken this morning when light was lighting on the gladioli on the dining table. These are not our gladioli, of course, although it would be lovely to grow some next year.
It's been an absolute belter of a day, weatherwise, and it's been well spent. We had a circuitous drive to the Corry Croft nursery, to expand upon our purchases of plants from there. We drove along Loch Brora and were a bit unimpressed with it.
After making our purchases, we headed down to Lairg and ate lunch at the Pier. It was busy, but not ridiculously so, and it was great to sit out in the sun. In fact, it was almost a trifle hot.
Back at base, we planted out our new acquisitions, and then headed up to the local garden centre in Tain to get a couple of accessories which were needed for the garden, which meant - of course - that we also purchased a few more plants. Nothing exorbitant, but he did have some interesting herbs. Vietnamese coriander, for example.
The swim was a late one, but it was glorious. There were a lot of people in the car park, on the beach and in the sea. We heard from a fellow swimmer that someone on the beach was stung by a weever fish earlier on, and ended up in minor injuries in Invergordon. All of our group were strongly advised to wear beach and swimming shoes. At the end (after 35 minutes), I was not cold at all, and I haven't been cold at any point this evening, although we sat out - wearing fleeces - for a beer after dinner.
I feel like I made a good choice for my week off given the weather. It must have been meant to be so.
