Stop

A bus stop! On the south side of Bernard Street! There hasn't been a bus stop here for about....ooh, five years at a guess. Well, for a long period there were no buses either, but since they re-routed the 34 it's been extremely handy for us going up to the allotment, particularly if weighed down with bird seed, etc. But the 34 has been on a long-term diversion via Salamander Place (about the most unsuitable road for a bus you can imagine - speed bumps and cobbles!), and on its return route has whisked us along Bernard St without stopping, forcing us to get out by Aldi. I noticed yesterday that they'd painted the stop on the road and today Dave went up to the allotment and returned with the news that he had got the bus back down the road and got off here. Very handy for Pierino's chippie.
