Rule one holds GOOD!
Inasmuch as I seriously doubt I'll see another in a hurry.
First thought -"THAT many?!?" - recount - 8X2=16 - yup 16. - Looked them up:-
"Sixteen Spot Ladybird. Description. This is a small (3 mm), beige coloured ladybird with black spots. The black centre line is a distinguishing feature (only shared with the 14 spot). Identification difficulty. Habitat. It usually lives in grassland but is easily overlooked."
BEIGE?!?
Now then - knowing that I'll try & watch out for it.
BUT - after seeing the mention of centre line - puzzled - then - saw phot of a "fresh young ~ ~ ~ " MORE puzzled - its 16 are differently positioned from mine; I see six on each wing case plus one forrard & one aft. Their photo shows six plus two forrard. Any Bugologists out yonder?
"There are 26 types of ladybird in the UK, many of which can be spotted in gardens and woodland."
Off which, I've seen very few. This one, This one, and three others which made it to Blip; all red, with no more than eight spots apiece.
