Chamonix

There is a rock face by this lake used by people to practise climbing. We stopped here for our lunch and ended up staying for ages watching various people climb.

We then headed back into the town centre and took the train up to the Mer de Glace - one of the glaciers on the Mont Blanc massif. Just by way of contrast I've added a photo of the snowy scene that awaited us.
