Spider on its web in the west facing window

As I came down the stairs I noticed the spider being backlit by the slowly setting sun. It is a small window and I don't remember seeing a web here before, and especially not with an expectant spider in situ.

I returned soon after with a long white rum drink, which seemed appropriate for the setting sun, and a camera. I pointed the spider out to Woodpeckers who Im pleased to say has returned from her short stay at the Green Gathering. I drove to Chepstow to pick her up this morning, and we were both pleased that the sun was shining at last.
