Ocean gazing

I came across this man and his dog as we walked along the coastal path signposted Solitary Islands Coastal Walk.

We set off from the apartment at Korora and walked for nearly an hour till we found the coffee stop Mike had recommended. It was interesting with a mixture of beach, along undulating paths, through woodlands and up steep wooden stairs - the first extra was taken when we were having a breather at the top of one set. The brush turkey was sunning itself beside one of the paths - not the best shot as it didn’t get up to show me it’s yellow neck wattles. However we managed to knock 10 minutes off on the way back !

Altogether another very enjoyable day with lovely sunshine.

In the afternoon we drove into Coffs Harbour, a much bigger place than we had realised - the only problem was coming back we followed signs to get on the Pacific Highway and after a few miles of not recognising landmarks to turn off for Korora we discovered we were heading towards Sydney and not Brisbane!!

At that point monsoon rain started again and the wipers could barely cope and with thundering great trucks on my heels it was a great relief to find a turn off where we could change direction. A glass of wine was called for when we made it back to the apartment by this time in the dark.
