State of Origin begins ...

Feeling a little better today but my eyes got real heavy around midday, had to have a little snooze on the couch!

Today sees the first of the State of Origin games! The State of Origin is an Australian rugby league tournament which sees NSW and QLD (New South Wales and Queensland) battle it out every winter over three games. Thankfully, QLD have won for the last 7yrs so we're very happy in our household as Martin is a Queenslander. Sadly QLD lost today's game but what a good game it was. Still 2 more to go.

We were down at our favourite pub in Discovery Bay, called McSorley's! The Pure Blonde beer is one of Australia's most popular beers at the moment as they are low in carbs and people's preferred drink these days. The other pics are our friends glued to the screen and of course the screen!!! NSW are the Blues and QLD The Maroons (pronounced Marones, and you'd better get that right!!!). We had one New South Welshman with us. In the past, everytime he's been with us, we've lost so we're not inviting him anymore!

I'm still up, so I guess the jet lag isn't that bad this time round. Yay.
