Agenda 1, Agenda 2, Agenda zzzzz

There is a maxim that meetings should be thirty minutes (or less).

An hour is about the maximum amount of time that produces productive discussion on one topic as attention wavers and the disappears.

Avoid anything above that timeframe, as expanding the time doesn't expand the results.

Shorter meetings are better meetings and don't take up valuable time in your day.

The first meeting of the day was an RNA Committee Meeting, held in a restaurant over breakfast it was about an hour long, productive and the decisions made communicated the same day.

Onto a lunch time coffee with Richard, pleased with his new polo, we discussed the coming week, coffee next Friday before the annual RNA Fireworks Boat Trip. A quick and expensive shop on the way home before a catching up with Mrs S over a pastry and coffee. I left for a 6:00pm start to the FRFC AGM telling Mrs S I’d be a couple of hours and we’d have our pizza when I got home.

Meeting Two - Five And A Half Hours, by 11:30pm I had almost lost the will to live, I’d definitely lost interest and the room had lost around half its occupants and there weren’t that many to start with.
The two most contentious issues were left until the four hour mark and we knew then that we weren’t going to finish any time soon.
Due to the prolonged ‘waffle’ of the first half of the agenda the second half was severely curtailed, aside from the two contentious items most were just skimmed over and my input, facilities, barely mentioned but I guess I’ve got used to that.

I think that could well be my last meeting, definitely my last AGM!

It’ll all come good on the 19th, our first home match.
