Fringe by the Sea, North Berwick

We visited one of my favourite places in the world today - North Berwick - to go to the Fringe by the Sea. I've been visiting this place with my grandparents and parents since I was a babe in arms and it holds a special place in my heart. I took my own children there many, many times while they were growing up and I have such  fond memories of the place.

On arrival, we had breakfast at the delightful Drift cafe with its super view over to the Bass Rock. We then went to the festival to see Adam Frost talk about his life in gardening which was both interesting and entertaining. Afterwards, we enjoyed lunch from one of the many food trucks set up in the festival grounds. There was a super atmosphere in the town and it was bustling with visitors which was great to see. We rounded off our visit with a guided walking tour of the town with a local who clearly loves the place and was very knowledgeable about its history and development. I certainly learned a great deal that I hadn't known before despite feeling very familiar with the place. Overall, it was one of those lovely, unexpectedly perfect days!
