There’s a story. Last year’s local history walk paused here, the speaker noting that any new reserves or parks cannot be named for men, especially local councillors. Today I learnt it’s getting a new name and a makeover is on the agenda for tomorrow’s Friends of Erskineville meeting. Sydney City Council is asking residents for suggestions.

I looked back through Google Maps. People featured in only two - an older man with a walking stick getting up from a seat and a woman with a baby in a pram sitting in the sun.

My thoughts: it should be much greener, including a garden where the bump in the concrete indicates tree roots; a water bubbler/fountain; some public art on the back wall; a blackboard and chalks for the brick wall on the left; a more colourful hopscotch set further back from the footpath. 

Right now the only colour is the Indigenous art on the NBN node box.
