Chicory

The mini meadow and allotment have run riot whilst we have been away.  Did it rain a lot?!

As is usual on return from holiday, the day has been passed putting things away including the orienteering equipment from Lagganlia.  Everything is washed and dried.  Tony has harvested the remaining blackcurrants, which in their ripened state have made the most delicious coulis.  He has also brought down the first of the plums, tomatoes and potatoes.  Meanwhile I have cleared the knapweed out of the mini meadow as it has gone over and was starving the remaining plants of light and air.  The prominent flowers in the meadow now are loosestrife and chicory, both of which are covered in insects.

Whilst I prepared dinner I watched the exciting finish of the men's road race in Glasgow and the women's elite qualifying round in the BMX freestyle.

Thank you for calling by over recent weeks.  I hope to do some catching up soon.
