There's always one
Another good day volunteering at the UCI cycling world championships and meeting some lovely people from different parts of the globe. I opted to be outside again at the spectator queue in the morning sunshine. It was quite a slow start and after a big rush just after 9am it went strangely quiet. I soon discovered the reason was a maintenance train derailment which brought chaos to services until after lunch time. A lot of people arrived quite late for the morning session but in general were philosophical about the service disruption and still looking forward to a great event.
Today's entitled spectator wasn't going to park in the secure bike park saying it wasn't secure enough and insisted on parking at the only seat in the walkway to the entrance.
