You win some, you lose some
We've stopped in Country Parks before to recharge the EV . Usually you get toilets, nice walks, possibly a cafe or at least a coffee hut. As we travelled back through Scotland towards England, MrP wanted to charge up, one last time, at one of the very organised Chargepoint Scotland sites . He spotted Strathclyde Country Park on the M74 just outside Glasgow with a ChargePoint site. The charger worked but we had to leave a poor review. The toilets on the map and signposted had been removed. And no refreshments near the charger despite there being a children's playground next to the charger. Where do the children go to the toilet I wondered? The blip is us exploring the paths in the park while the car charged. Despite this park having hosted many prestigious sporting events in the past, we concluded that the money generated by the events has not been spent on the park. The woodland areas were very overgrown .
And you might be interested to know the variety of tariffs we paid to ChargePoint Scotland for electricity during our trip. The cheapest was 0p / kwh to at the medical centre in Tarbert ( Harris). You can guess we used this one a lot. Every time we went into Tarbert for a meal we hooked up to the free charger. No sign to say customers or doctors only. The most expensive was 70p/kwh at Strathclyde Country Park. Mosty we paid 20 or 30p - which means you fill the car up for about £10 which gives 250 miles.
