Changeover

It's June.

It's winter.

It's cold (although thankfully, we've had plenty of milder weather)

New counil by-laws have meant I had to have my old fire removed and haven't been allowed to light it this year.

Tomorrow the new fire gets put in, though I probably won't be able to light it until the council has inspected it and given it the clearance. Hopefully Friday will see that done.

I loved my open fire - the crackling, the dancing flames, even the smell. I'm not sure that the new one will yield quite the same ambience. I certainly hope it generates plenty of heat.

I think we'll get a frost tonight . . . . .
