A very wet day necessitating a change of plans. A day out with a friend had to be replanned and we ended up doing two things that I’d wanted to do for ages. A visit to the Barber Institute at Birmingham University and their wonderful art collection, from Donatello to Henry Moore, from Botticelli to Van Gogh they had at least one piece from a host of major artists. Will definitely return. Followed by lunch at Simpson’s a restaurant in nearby Edgbaston that my friend has talked about many times. It was wonderful. And the rain didn’t bother us!
