Røros

I’m way behind as we’ve just been away for a week with no reliable mobile coverage or Wi-Fi, and no sign of that improving any time soon. We wanted to visit the World Heritage town of Røros and spent the day here. The blip is the church from one of the spoil tips. We went on the early mine tour at Rørosmuseet Olavsgruva which was an hour’s duration down a couple of the old Copper mines. The first extra is the terrain near there and a resident Reindeer. We spent the early afternoon in the main museum, which was excellent with incredible working models of how the copper mining took place. We then wandered around town looking at the old wooden buildings in glorious warm weather. The second extra is some of the buildings and the third some details around the town.

Best on black.

Today’s entry on the Abstract Fiesta journal is Mining Debris.
