Early start

What you don’t want with a meeting time already agreed for 7am, is for the driver to start calling you early, announcing his premature arrival. At least this did mean we had no chance of getting caught in traffic, which is fairly light in Dodoma.

We donned suits and attended a government meeting in order to present our work, which went well. We did have to wait around three hours after the appointed time, but it was ultimately useful.

Later we toasted our success at a roadside restaurant. The soundtrack was surprising: Celine Dion and Lean on Me (Michael Bolton rendition). Getting tipsy with colleagues is a great way to forget about the mounting to-do list.
