Cluster of Cottages, Long Island

Took a long Kayak this evening from Colla Pier, east of Schull over to Long Island, I nearly opted out as there was quite a wind from the east but I went for it and crossed the channel between the mainland and the Island with just a good soaking from the spray!
I decided to follow the north coast of the island out west, where I pulled up on a lovely beach and went on foot to explore the headland. This cluster of small cottages must be so exposed in the winter gales as was the headland I walked around! The scenery was beautiful and very dramatic with stunning views to Cape Clear, Fastnet Lighthouse, Goat Island and the mainland. I paddled, picnicked and bimbled on the beaches before setting back.
