Glen Affric

Went up to Dog Falls in Glen Affric today. There are very pleasant short forest walks around the river, through beautiful Caledonian pine forest (there was a BBC series called "The Last of the Mohicans", broadcast in 1971, some of which was shot in Glen Affric).  Went for a swim in Loch Beinn a'Mheadhoin and a short walk up the north side of the loch Affric as well. 

The extra is a young house martin that we found on the path, that seemed to be unable to fly. We held it up and it did fly off, but just landed in the grass 10 metres away. It didn't seem injured so we think it was just learning to fly and perhaps fallen out the nest - there was an adult flying around above us -- so we left them in peace to practice.
