SWEET!

Yeah, I know it's Flower Friday but who has time to shoot flowers when IMSA is in town and it's race fever once again at Road America.  IMSA (International Motor Sports Association) is an American racing sanctioning body based in Daytona Beach, Florida.

All sorts of interesting racing cars are on track this weekend including Lamborghinis, BMWs, Mercedes', Corvettes, LMP2 and LMP3, the Mazda MX-5 Cup and a whole bevy of old Prototypes like this one from Konica Minolta.

It still gets the job done and it's amazing to see how quick they really are.  On the final straight leading to the Start/Finish line, these Prototypes, and LMPs just scoot past everything else like they were standing still.

I'd likely kill myself but I'd really like to have a go at driving one of them around this storied race track.  The track is 4.084 miles long (6.673km) and they were turning laps of 1:50.3.....that's about 131mph (210.8 km/h) average speed.  Fast enough for me.

Best in Large.
