Well received!
The double-day birthday began today for little Miss B, who received lots of lovely pressies. Her mum and dad gave her a pink unicorn camera (never too young to start!) which was great fun for her. She had lots of other pressies, many unicorn themed, as were her cards. "Neigh!" as she would say, prior to her actual 4th birthday tomorrow, when she will be having her party.
It was lovely watching her unpack her zoo. She began with the mats and added all the bits I'd made - hedges, fences, lakes and trees and so forth. Then opened the other box and took out the contents one at a time to the joyous cry of "Aminals, aminals, aminals...!"
She arranged and rearranged the layout of the zoo, at one point removing all but the animals, which she arranged in a circle as they were having a party. (I was expecting 'pass the parcel' but they were rearranged again so that didn't happen!) In the main picture LMB is building a vehicle from magnet shapes to deliver visitors to the zoo. She had an extension set for her birthday, as it is her favourite toy.
Her mum had to pop out to get food for tomorrow's party, which provided for a much-needed sleep for the young master in the car. Mr PP went with them in case someone needed to sit in the car with the boy. LMB and I stayed at home, baking cupcakes and playing with the zoo. (For once she'd run out of cake mixes so we made the cakes from scratch, which I much prefer.)
All in all a lovely time was had by all. When we got home Mr PP nobly mowed the lawn and did other urgent gardening jobs, while I was stewing more apples and rhubarb ready to freeze and/or turn into more crumbles. Phew!
