St George’s Hall

A lovely day spent with Mum in Liverpool. We did a bit of shopping where Mum got some shoes, a top and some new trousers - quite a haul by our normal standards! Then we had a nice lunch at Browns and then headed over to St George’s Hall.
Most years recently they have uncovered the Minton tiled floor and allowed people to view the spectacular hand made Minton tiled floor - more than 30,000 of them. At other times of the year they are covered with boards to protect them as the Great Hall is used for many events throughout the year. It was quite lovely, but with only my phone, I didn’t manage to capture it to do it justice - see extras
Also, there were a couple of colourful huge tapestries commissioned in 2008 when Liverpool was the capital of culture, and they were just stunning - so much work in them.
